PEEK-A-BOO
art & design exhibition
30/09/2021 – 30/03/2022

Feeling like a child without giving up being an adult. This is the aim of the new exhibition at nhow Milan. PEEK-A-BOO is the celebration of the play theme told by the encounter of artists and designers, established and emerging, ready to shape the spaces and environments of nhow Milan, from 30 September to 30 March 2022. An explosive mix of pop art, interior design and references to childhood, the exhibition aims to arouse contrasting emotions and sensations such as nostalgia, amazement and disbelief, involving numerous artists and designers with innovative and creative talents. The aim of the works is to touch the most hidden chords of the human soul and take adults back to that carefree world of children where the scariest thing was the monsters under the bed and little things were enough to be happy. This is how the name of the exhibition PEEK-A-BOO was born, the translation into English of one of the most common expressions used by adults to amuse children. The exhibition thus recreates a happy oasis in which visitors, now grown-up adults, can experience the same sensations they felt as children.

ALESSANDRA PIERELLI

She wanted to represent with her artistic technique (polystyrene, resin, pins) this new way of interacting between human beings. In a world where people communicate more and more, but in which communication takes place more often with social media, with less attention to words that are replaced by symbols (such as emoji faces). In the midst of the Covid-19 emergency period, I put one new element to the emoji, which is one of the best known symbols, for better or for worse – the protective mask-, of this phase that will go down in history. As Robert Rauschem – berg said: “The artist’s job is to witness his time in history”

GIANLUCA PATTI

Gianluca Patti was born in 1977 in Monza, where he currently lives and works. His research focuses on the study of colour and material as narration tools of the inti – mate sphere and the temporal dimension. The installation “The Game” recalls the popular game known as Tris. It is simple and immediate, and it leads the viewer to make choices. The game is still open, who is the next one to make the move? There are multiple interpretations. I invite the spectator to play and never stop listening to his inner child. A throwback keeping alive our personal game, everyday life.
